A city of 77 distinct communities and 200 neighborhoods - each with its own character, richness, and its own needs.
We believe that right beliefs (Orthodoxy) and right living (Orthopraxy) are inseparable. Our belief about God should influence the way we live in the world. We believe that the God of Scripture is one who takes initiative. He “created,” “came down,” “called,” “chose,” and “caused us to be born again to a living hope.” Therefore, in response to His initiating work we are now to be initiators as well; people who take action by the power of the Holy Spirit. God has supplied everything we need to take bold, risk-taking steps for the good of others and glory of God in the city of Chicago. As an organization, we serve local churches by coming alongside them in order to engage together in holistic and practical responses to God’s call for lives of love and justice from His people. To do this we seek to:
WE TRAIN PEOPLE TO INVEST THEIR LIVES FOR THE GOOD OF CHICAGO.
The realities of modern mercy and justice ministry are vastly complex and no community should feel alone in their efforts. Experienced leaders and organizers are eager to help train and mobilize your community. Hope for Chicago desires to see every initiative well resourced by those who feel called to serve as a part of their response to God’s demand for lives of love and justice.
WE COLLABORATE WITH LIKE-MINDED INDIVIDUALS, ORGANIZATIONS, AND CHURCHES.
Hope For Chicago brings people together through various events and meet-ups to accelerate learning and engagement. How will we as a city reduce violence, improve education, eliminate human trafficking, and reform immigration? How will your community engage the issues in your neighborhood? How can you in your profession make a difference?
WE EQUIP AND EMPOWER PEOPLE TO CREATE NEW INITIATIVES.
These initiatives may be justice issues that have been on your heart or that you have seen in your neighborhood. Our desire is that individuals will use the gifts and passions God has given them to create something new, something that will produce gospel-centered, justice-bearing, exponential results in Chicago. We will help incubate and resource new ideas alongside the local church.
